Chef Derek LaVelle
Derek LaVelle first got his start in the food world 20 years ago in Detroit, Michigan. Over the years Chef LaVelle has worked with such diverse cuisines as Greek, Italian, French, Belgian, Mexican, Cuban, Japanese, Moroccan, Thai, Indian and various regional American dishes. Born in Ohio, raised on traditional Midwestern food, Chef LaVelle moved to Michigan and was quickly exposed to a myriad of flavors and techniques. It was then that Derek realized his passion for cooking.
Derek has spent years crafting his skills and has cooked for everyone from sports stars & athletes to world renowned opera singers and musicians. Having worked at various restaurants, companies and private events Chef LaVelle was repeatedly asked to cook at private events throughout San Diego. It was then that he realized it was time to venture out and create his own company, thus Chef LaVelle Personal Chef was born.
